How to putty large holes in wood

How to repair wood scratches
If you want to repair scratches on the wood or small scratches, it will not be necessary to use putty. The putty is used in case of more or less deep holes or cracks; in case of superficial scratches you can use special waxes.
THEscratches and the lines on thewood they are very easy to repair. The scratches can be the result of a stripping of the wood done too quickly, or the signs of the claws of our dog or cat, or again, of our distraction in carrying objects.
On the market, there are ready-to-use kits that are easy to manage, they were born for repair of scratches in the wood (furniture, doors, parquet, tables…). These kits are based on resinous compounds and waxes in stick format (shellac). The compounds fill the crack created by the scratch, restoring a perfectly homogeneous surface. These kits can be used on any wooden surface: oiled, lacquered or natural. They adapt to the most disparate shades according to your needs.

Putty for wood
Holes, cracks and large cracks in the wood can be repaired with the specialstucco. On the market there are different types offillers for wood which can be chosen based on the type of damage, the wood essence and the type of finish of the wood to be repaired. The fillers for wood available on the market are:

- compound putty
- ready-to-use putty
- two-component putty
- reconstructive putty
- shellac putty

How to putty wood
Compound putty is the one that is best applied to different shades of wood. It is prepared by mixing standard wood filler (available in powder or paste) and aniline dyes; to homogenize the two ingredients, add a little vinyl glue and water. Aniline dyes are the most diverse: ocher, brown, red, yellow .... even more dyes can be mixed to obtain new shades.
Like shellac waxes, compound putty also does not need to be painted.
Theputty for woodit should be applied in thin and overlapping layers until the repair is complete.
Forrepair the woodyou can use one ready-to-use putty for interiors, the same employed to repair cracks in the wall. To be able to apply it on the wood it will be necessary to add small quantities of vinyl glue.
The two-component putty should be used to reinforce weaker parts of the wood or to perform entire reconstructions.
The retreading putty is the most suitable one forrepair holes in woodand rebuild missing parts and damaged parts. Even with this putty it will not be necessary to use paint because it will be possible to mix it with aniline dyes.
After application with a special spatula, it will be necessary to sand with very fine-grained sandpaper to level and make the surface homogeneous.
